Risk Warning
Last Updated: May 21, 2026
Before using QugoApp or executing any transactions, you must carefully read and understand the financial, operational, and regulatory risks associated with digital assets.
1. Digital Asset Volatility Risk
Digital assets, including stablecoins, cryptocurrencies, and tokens, are subject to extreme market volatility. Asset prices can change rapidly and unpredictably, which may lead to significant financial loss. Transactions in digital assets are irreversible once broadcast to the blockchain network.
2. Stablecoin Slippage and Peg Risks
While stablecoins (e.g., USDT, USDC) are designed to maintain a 1:1 value ratio with fiat currencies, they are not immune to market fluctuations or de-pegging risks. Slippage may occur during periods of high market volatility, resulting in execution rates that differ from the estimated quote.
3. Regulatory and Legal Uncertainty
The regulatory landscape governing digital assets and fiat-to-crypto operations is evolving. Changes in government regulations, central bank policies, or licensing requirements in the Federal Republic of Nigeria or international jurisdictions may restrict, delay, or prevent the provision of Qugo services.
4. Non-Custodial Security Responsibility
As a non-custodial software provider, Qugo does not have access to your private recovery keys or passwords. You are solely responsible for securing your seed phrases, PINs, and device hardware. Loss of recovery credentials will result in permanent loss of access to your digital assets.
5. Dependency on Third-Party Payment Systems
Payouts and clearing rely on external infrastructure networks, including clearing partners (Quidax) and local banking settlement rails (Paystack). System outages, network congestion, or maintenance delays on these external platforms may result in transaction delays beyond Qugo's control.
6. Operational Risk
Using internet-based software involves risks of hardware failure, software bugs, internet connectivity issues, and malicious cyber attacks. While Qugo implements strict security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against all online threats.
